New Moon Consideration: The Queen of Pentacles Reversed and The Fool

Estimated read is 3 minutes.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared a bit of tarot. I’ve been managing an international move and, truthfully, have felt on edge with the state of the world.

When faced with the grief bestowed upon us by colonial capitalism, I think there’s room to find joy and groundedness in practices that ask us to be hopeful and understand that much can change through cycles of self-understanding and recognizing our capacity.

I hope that by looking at the moon and tarot, I can provide some solace.

So here’s a short exercise and message for the new moon or whenever you stumble upon this.

Let’s begin.

Breathwork

First, I invite you to take some breaths with me

The new moon is a new opportunity to shed anything not serving you

Continue breathing at your own pace

You may shed old ways of thinking, physical and digital clutter, energy that is weighing you down, and holding you back

Collective Tarot Reflection

The Fool and the Queen of Pentacles reversed share a simple message.

Focus on what you can control. Hint—it's not everything. Take stock of what you have that provides stability for you and the ones you care about, and accept help where others have the capacity to support.

You don't need much to move forward. In some cases, we don’t have much. We have the ability to get by with a changed perspective on how we use what’s available.

Optimism does well when grounded in the reality of the current situation.

While some things might not be what you have hoped for or expected exactly, an opportunity for better is still possible.
